San Bernardino County Track and Field

A lot of things have changed including changes in my personal life, and I just don’t have time to maintain this website. I will revert to the free version and update the all-time lists at the end of each season, but there won’t be meet results. Prepcaltrack and other sites have the results in more depth than I could ever provide on my own. To the few of you who sent me information and comments, thank you.

It’s been a strange track and field season, but after what cross country looked like, I think everyone was thankful to have an almost normal season. While there wasn’t an official State Meet, there was a state championship of sorts that potentially brought together the best in the state. Unfortunately, some didn’t participate. Chino’s Mia Chavez quietly put together an outstanding season, choosing to focus on the 800 meters at this meet. She took the title and nearly grabbed the County record in the event. She ran 2:08.12, just .06 off Jacquelyn Hill’s record. She joins Hill as the only athletes to break 2:10 in County history.
Also of note, a big shout out to Ontario Christian, who’s boys team amassed 46 points to claim the runner up plaque at the CIF Division 4 Championships earlier this month. 20 of those came from thrower Christian Burroughs, who won both the shot put and discus titles.

Wow! Sure, it’s not an event run in every meet…or even that frequently, but it is in big meets, and Upland brought their big meet game tonight at Arcadia. Both the boys and girls were running unopposed, not the best condition for setting records, but they laid down a pair of epic marks. The girls opened with the #9 mark in state history, nearly breaking one minute, posting the #2 mark in County history at 1:00.24. The Highlanders’ 2018 squad holds that County record. Jordyn Grady, Ajah Anderson, London Davis, and Cienna Norman-Thomas did the honors racing themselves into the elite in state history.
Not to be outdone, the boys came in wanting to make history. Davis Davis-Lyric had posted the state record on social media and said “why not us!!!” and that state record is no more. It belongs to the Highlanders and a team made up of two juniors and two sophomores. The previous record of 59.17 was set way back in 1983 and it was blasted away with Kai Graves-Blanks, Davis Davis-Lyric, DeQuan January, and Delaney Crawford running 57.75 to make history. Obviously it was also a County record…by nearly 5 seconds. It was a great start for the Arcadia Invitational, that a few months ago, few saw actually happening.
