FALL BALL INFORMATION FOR FALL 2003

Posted by Mark Wenneker at May 20, 2003 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Newton Little Leagues are combining efforts to play interleague games in a fall baseball program. The games are played in Newton and occasionally in nearby communities. To be eligible to play, a player's birth date must fall between 8/1/91 and 12/31/94. Schedules have not been finalized; however, there are usually two games per week. The Major League teams play on Fridays and Sundays while the Minor League teams play on Wednesdays and Sundays. The weekday games begin at 5:00 pm and Sunday games are played at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. The program will begin the first week of September and, weather permitting, will continue through mid-October. Practices will be held at the discretion of the manager. If a player cannot attend at least 80% of the games and practices (due to conflicting soccer games/practices or other commitments), he/she should not apply. As in the past fall seasons, two levels of play will be offered: Majors and one level of Minors. In general a player should choose to compete at the Major League level only if 1) he/she is currently on the roster of a Major League team, or 2) he/she plans to advance to the Major League from the Minor League in the Spring of 2004. The Minor League fall program is for returning Minor League players. Registration material will be mailed in mid-Summer to all players who participated in the Spring 2003 season. Please contact us if you are new to NCLL or have changed your address at NCLL@attbi.com.
