Snack Shack Volunteer Scheduling Underway

Posted by Tanya Sullivan at Mar 12, 2007 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
A few dedicated moms had a 3 day Ro-Sham-Bo tournament to decide who will have the honor of heading the 2007 Snack Shack Program this year.  Tanya Sullivan emerged as the victor in a hard fought battle of the paper, rock, scissors, and grill cleaning block.

She is scrambling to clean, stock, and outfit the snack shacks as we speak.  Her priorities are "Food First" (we thought you'd agree) followed immediately by scheduling all of you wonderful volunteers to lend a hand.  The AA Braves have agreed to staff the Minor Snack Shack during Opening Week.  We appreciate Team Mom Mary Johnson's willingness to organize her troops on short notice.  Yeah Mary... You Rock!

With a few days of experience under our belts and the assistance of our incredible Volunteer Coorinator and Board Member, Kelly Bruihl we hope to have a schedule put together for the rest of the season within a week or ten days.  The learning curve is steep, and sometimes a little greasy, so hang in there while we figure it all out.

Tanya will be flippin' the burgers for the first several days to get the hang of things. Meanwhile, stop by the Major Snack Shack Grill Window and say hello... and check out all the groovy improvements we've been busy making!  They will make Snack Shack volunteers jobs SO much easier!image
That got you to click the mouse didn't it? :-)

PALL is trying to be sure parents who complete their two scheduled shifts in the snack shack get their $40 refund on time. A donated time clock would help us do that.  Those puppies are expensive!

Many companies have gone to computerized time clocks. Your company may have one of those "old fashioned" manual time clocks lying around... you know, the type you slide the card in and push the button, and it prints the "in" or "out" time on the card?

If your company can help, please call Tanya Sullivan, the 2007 Snack Shack Skipper at 529-1720 or email her at PTownBaseballMom@comcast.net.  We would be delighted to provide them with a receipt for tax purposes.

What a turnout!  Wow!  PALL's fields are in amazing shape due to a great crew of parents that turned out to add finishing touches to our fields and lend a needed hand readying the Snack Shacks for the season.

Special mention to a couple of parents that really went above and beyond!  Liane Cusimano and her family tackled the Minor League Snack Shack.  Not an easy task, but a lot of team work and a little elbow grease can cut through months of dust!

And a big thank you to Tom Busse who spent many hours this week taking care of deferred maintenance items in the snack shack.  Greg Orton prepped the window sills so Tom could fabricate and install some fantastic new steel surfaces that are so much easier to clean!  Tom also sealed up some exterior cracks and some other odd jobs that our poor old building has needed for a long time.

Players, give your parents a hug.  They made your diamonds shine for Opening Day!
