Congratulations to Medina on winning the Buckeye Cup this weekend! They won against Athens, 2-1. NCHSHL has much to be proud of. All four teams--Medina, Lakewood, Gilmour, and Jackson--wound up in the top 6 out of 12 teams at the conclusion of each team's three preliminary games. Got to say that this season proved to be another exciting league season! Many would say it was even more unpredictable than last year. Checking on the standings weekly tended to present another "surprise" as we watched teams "battle" over league standing positions, especially in the last few weeks of the season--you never knew how things would stand after another episode...I mean, another week of games. And, this is truly what our league season should be made of. It can be said that while what place a team held in the standings was important, there really was still a "camaraderie" among all teams, and it showed by all the well wishes expressed from a team to another team throughout the season, even if it meant that the result might knock the well wisher's team down a notch in the standings. On that note, congratulations to all teams in the league. Your achievements are great regardless of where you placed at the end of the season, and each team should be proud of the success and growth it had this season. Best wishes to Walsh Jesuit in their transition to the Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League next year. Looking forward to another fun season for 2006-2007! Good luck to all, Tammy

Best wishes to all teams in the NCHSHL Playoffs this weekend @ Gilmour! Club teams will still be competing for a spot in the Buckeye Cup, and those teams will be determined after this weekend; the first place team after regular season league games, Medina, gets automatic berth for the Buckeye Cup. There could still be a few surprises with standings after this weekend, and it will be interesting to watch where the remaining teams fall. Good luck this weekend!
