In a Monday night matchup between the Andre Chiefs and Reading Bulldogs, dominant pitching and key hits helped Andre to a 6-1 win.
Andre’s Jared Freni picked up the win in a complete game effort allowing only 1 run off 4 hits and recording 10 strikeouts. Colby Morris took the loss for Reading as the starting pitcher going 2 2/3 inning. Jack Theriault and Alex Mandrus both came into relief to finish the game and looked sharp giving up only a combined 4 hits and 2 runs.
The Bulldogs scored their lone run in the 4th inning after Chris Seidl led off with a single and a stolen base to put him on second base with no outs. After Seidl moved to third base from a Kevin Marciano single, his second hit of the game, Corey DiLoretto brought in the run with a fielder’s choice. Mike DeDonato also recorded a single in the inning.
The Bulldogs will play on the road against the Andre Chiefs tonight at 8:00pm looking to get back in the win column.
