South Dayton Slammers

Sundays game is at 4:30 so everyone try to get there no later than 3:30.  There are batting cages down both foul lines so the earlier you get there the more swings you can take.  We also want to get warmed up and hopefully take some infield.  Sunday starts a long season and since we are all getting to know each other baseball wise let's all be patient and see what the season brings us.  The beginning of every year looks mighty different than the end.  Let's go out and play hard and win some games.  There was a small mix up in the hat order by Tuffy Brooks so we will have blank blue hats for the first few games.  The original order is coming in but will be a few weeks late.  Until then Dan got enough of the blank hats for all the players.  Here is a pic of the hats we will be gettting.

The midday showdown features the Miami Valley Dragons, hungry for their first franchise victory, matched up agains the South Dayton Slammers, formerly the Kettering Outlaws. Scott Jones takes over at the helm for the young Dragons and was busy in the offseason adding a lot of talent to his ballclub. The Dragons selected Miamisburg's Chris Flahery as their top draft pick in '09, and should make a perfect double play partner with All-Star Aaron Brown. The Slammers will rely on veteran leadership to get back to the Big Dance. Since their championship loss in 2005, the Outlaws reached the 9-win mark for the first time in 2008. However, the newly restructured Slammers will look to pass that total by midseason! Rick Anderson and Dan Wayman have added a lot of talent to go with All-Star SS Kevin Ashworth.
