Newfield Soccer Club - First Intramural 3V3 Festival

NEWFIELD SOCCER 1ST ANNUAL 3 V 3 FESTIVAL
Newfield soccer will be hosting a 3 v 3 festival Saturday August 28th at North Coleman Elementary School.  The purpose of the festival is to raise money for our club to offset registration.  We will also be donating a portion of the proceeds to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This festival will be for intramural children only ages 6-9.  We will need as many volunteers as possible to help out with many different committees.  If you would like more information or to volunteer your time please contact: Bruce Berns - Festival Director bjqberns@aol.com.

New Club Structure Changes Scheduled for Fall 2010

CHANGES COMING FALL 2010

Newfield Soccer Club will be making changes to the Intramural Program starting in the Fall 2010 season. Although change is never easy we feel these changes will greatly influence the quality of our program and vastly improve on everyone's enjoyment. These changes will align us with U.S Youth Soccer, Eastern New York Youth Soccer and almost all other surrounding Clubs. If you have any questions please contact us at email@newfieldsoccerclub.com.

Coaches Course - LIJSL "C" Course

The club will be conducting a Long Island Juniors Soccer League Coaches Class:
The Long Island Junior "C" Course - this course is designed for those coaches who will be coaching and training youth soccer players from U10 to U13. The course covers the philosophy of coaching youth players, the laws of the game, games approach to teaching technique, care and prevention of injuries, coaching parents, teaching games, positional concepts(team shape), and positive vs negative reinforcement. Although this course is directed toward travel coaches we encourage those Intramural coaches who will be coaching and training the above age groups to also take this course. Successful participants will receive a LIJSL "C" Diploma and NSCAA State Diploma.  Please contact Arnaldo I. Adorno if you are interested in attending this course llman67@optonline.net.  After Feb 9, this course will be opened to coaches from other clubs.

COST:  $40 FEE FOR NEWFIELD SOCCER CLUB COACHES (to be reimbursed by the club after completion of course)  $80 FEE FOR GUEST COACHES

DATE: , 3/16, 3/18, 3/23, 3/25

TIME: 6pm - 9pm
LOCATION:  Bicycle Kindergarden Center

REGISTRATION:  Submit LIJSL "C" Course Application and submit with fee to Newfield Soccer Club, PO Box 1377, Selden, New York 11784.
CLOTHING:  some drill performance will be expected.  Attendee should wear comfortable gym attire.

The Long Island Junior "D" Course - this is a four hour course designed for those who will be coaching youth soccer players from 4 to 10 years of age. We encourage those parents and coaches who are involved with soccer for the first time to take this course, in order to learn the proper methodology in teaching youth players who may be exposed to soccer for the first time.
