Section 1. Referendum Procedure
A. Actions of the Executive Board shall be subject to referendum upon petition by 50 voting members. The petition must be in writing and submitted to the Secretary.
B. Upon receipt of a valid request for referendum, the Secretary will notify the voting membership of the petitioned subject.
C. The petition will be voted on at the next regularly scheduled League meeting that will be held within 31 days from the date of notification.
D. If a majority of the votes cast by the voting members favor the petition, then the Executive Board will promptly take the necessary action to implement that decision.
The objective of the League is to promote and encourage good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and responsibility. The players will be taught softball fundamentals and techniques used in playing with team members in a non-threatening atmosphere. The objective will be achieved by providing eligible players the opportunity to participate in supervised, competitive softball games with the EGGSL league bylaws. EGGSL bylaws will supersede GEMS rules.
