Millburn Pool Summer Swim Team

I don't have any particulars as I'm out of town, but my sources tell me that the Millburn Pool Swim Team opened their season with a victory on the road last night. As I get more details I will post them here.

Hi everyone, and welcome back to the Millburn Pool Summer Swim Team site!!!

I hope that everyone is fired up and ready to swim fast!!!! Only two more days 'til practice starts!!! And less than a week to the first meet at East Hanover on Tuesday!! 

First a disclaimer: You should know that this site is not created by nor is it officially affiliated with Millburn Township, the Millburn Recreation Department, the Millburn Pool or the Millburn Pool Swim team. It was created and is maintained by an enthusiastic swim parent. I aim for 100% accuracy in what I post here, but it is not guaranteed.

If there is ever a discrepancy between what is said here and what you are hearing from the coaches, listen to the coaches!!!

With that boring stuff out of the way, I hope that you are as excited as I am about this summer's team. We had a phenomenal year last year, and only look to be better this year!!

Coach Kelly has distributed a start of season packet (I'll link to it here) that has all the info you need to get started.

Don't forget that the team suit sale is at the first practice on Friday 6/25. If you don't get your suit then you'll be schlepping out to Stirling to get it later!!  

Congratulations to all Meet of Champions Qualifiers!!! Quite an extensive list are headed to New Providence on Thursday morning!!!! And what a great party tonight!!!!

Millburn closes out their dual meet season with a 6-2 record, defeating a game but undermanned Fairfield team in Fairfield 245-191. Competing tonight with a somewhat reduced squad due to upcoming club meets, questionable weather, and the lengthy trip to "Far-Field" (as my kids are fond of saying), the Millburn squad came through with flying colors, sealing away the victory before the relays even started.

Congratulations on a great regular season!!!! Next stop: Divisionals at East Hanover on Monday!!!

South Orange 215 !!!!!!!

For the first time in many years (as long as Mrs. Hetherington has been involved with the team) Millburn has defeated South Orange, and in South Orange!!!

In a tightly contested meet that was decided in the final relay, Millburn pulled out a close win against a very good South Orange team to raise their season record to 5-2!!! Congrats to all the Millburn swimmers, particularly the swimmers who scored a near-sweep in the Butterfly events!!!!!!!
