Destined to Dance now hosts birthday parties at your home or at our dance studio. Want a theme? Here are some of our most popular ones: Hawaiian Luau, Pretty Pretty Princess, Surfin' in the Sun, Baseball Strike Out. We can even think of a theme together!
Birthday Parties at the studio last approximately 2 hours. We will instruct 45 minutes to 1 hour of a dance class. The length of the class is based on the amount of guests and the average age of all the guests. The guests will learn a dance pertaining to the theme, if there is no theme the instructor will teach any genre of dance that you choose. After the birthday festivities (i.e. cake, presents, pizza), the staff at Destined to Dance will lead the birthday guests in a number of party games and traditional dances. The birthday girl or boy will receive a free gift!
You must supply all paper products, food, goody bags etc... Destined to Dance supplies the entertainment and activities. We have a select amount of tables and chairs on premises.

The "Legacy Dance Company" was formed in 1990 as a Performing Arts Ensemble. It is made up of talented dancers who strive for excellence in all disciplines of dance. The Company has performed at Six Flags Great Adventure, the Piscataway & Edison Street Fairs, Multicultural Fairs, Sterling Village Assisted Living, Somerset Patriots Games, Izod Center, St. Jude's Children Benefits, Walt Disney World and Las Vegas. Throughout the years the company has won hundreds of awards at various competitions throughout the area, as well has many specialty judge's awards and honors given throughtout the competition circuit. In the spring of 2017, the Destined to Dance instructors were awarded "Best Concept" at Precision Arts Challenge at their Somerset Regionals for our production Batman.
How do I become a member of Legacy?
There are NOT auditions to become a Legacy Dance Company member. Any dancer currently enrolled at Destined to Dance may receive an invitation for the company in mid September to early October. Only select students will receive an invitation. Company classes meet once a week. Company fees will be charged annually. There are some requirments that apply. Legacy Dance Company Summer Intensive August 7-11th The Legacy Dance Company intensive is for all current legacy dance company members, and students that are interested in joining our 2017-2018 team. (participation in the intensive does NOT guarantee membership into the dance company although strong consideration will be made)
Please talk to your dance teacher to see if this intensive is right for you. Ages 8 and up 10am-2pm (10-11:30am technique class, 11:30am-12 Lunch *please send your child with a lunch) 12-2pm choreography) $150 for the week Any company member that does NOT participate in this intensive will not be permitted to perform in the choreography. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Technique class will be taught by a different instructor daily. We will focus on technique as well as flexibility, balance and specialty tricks. Choreography will be taught for our company production to be performed in competition and community events.

Class is not always cancelled if the local schools are cancelled since the weather can change hourly. We will only close if instructed to close by the state, county or town due to weather conditions (i.e. state of emergency). A message will be left on our machine an hour before your scheduled class. If class is not cancelled, but you would prefer not to attend, please call or e-mail to let us know. You may make up missed classes due to weather, in another class.
