WEEK #1 -

Post #220, 10 vs. Sandwich, 3 (1-0) Post #220 started off the summer season w/ a convincing win. Tim Reilly (Wareham) tossed six full innings while allowing only four hits and one earned run. Reilly had command of his pitches, and collected seven strikeouts along the way. Offensively, Post #220 was led by Catcher Luke Mattar (Old Rochester), who went 3-for-3 w/ a double and three RBI's. Chris Carando (Old Rochester) also belted three hits of his own, while scoring twice and adding an RBI. Jeremiah Adams (Tabor) collected his first American Legion Baseball hit w/ a two run single in the third inning and Jimmy Gamache (Tabor) went 1-for-1 w/ three walks and two runs scored. Jared Gamache (Tabor) finished the seventh inning giving up only one hit w/ a strikeout.   

Kingston, 6 vs. Post #220, 0 (1-1) Kingston's pitcher Mike Lundin stymied Post #220's bats all game, as he allowed only three hits and collected twelve strikeouts in a complete game effort. Chris Carando (Old Rochester) and Jimmy Gamache (Tabor) added a base hit apiece, while Ryan Plunkett (Old Rochester) collected his first American Legion Baseball hit. Nate Strawn (Wareham) took the loss on the hill and Cy Bariteau (Wareham) pitched two scoreless innings of relief.

Post #220, 5 vs. Brockton, 4 (2-1) Tim Reilly (Wareham) picked up his second win of the summer season, as he threw six strong innings before handing it over to Sam Bacchiocchi (Tabor) for a resilient save. Reilly collected four strikeouts, while Bacchiocchi retired all three batters he faced in the final frame. Chris Carando (Old Rochester) went 1-for-2 w/ two runs scored, a walk and a sacrifice bunt. Zach Angelo (Tabor) added a double and two RBI's, while Jeremiah Adams (Tabor) and Luke Mattar (Old Rochester) each brought in a run. Cy Bariteau (Wareham) collected his first American Legion Baseball hit w/ a single in the fourth inning.

WEEK #2  -

Barnstable, 7 vs. Post #220, 2 (2-2) In a mistake filled game, Barnstable made the most of their opportunities and ran away w/ the win. Ian Gray (Old Rochester) pitched well in his first start of the season, as he completed four innings of work. Gray only allowed two earned runs and collected three strikeouts on the night. Sam Bacchiocchi (Tabor) collected his first American Legion Baseball hit w/ a single in the second inning. Wiley Knight (Tabor) went 2-for-4, while Chris Carando (Old Rochester), Jimmy Gamache (Tabor) and Luke Mattar (Old Rochester) each added a hit of their own.

Orleans, 3 vs. Post #220, 1 (2-3) Post #220 had the bases loaded twice in the late innings, but could only push one run across in a quick - one and a half hour game. Tim Reilly (Wareham) pitched well enough to win, but did not get the offensive support. Reilly collected six strikeouts and allowed only two earned runs on eight hits. Brett Labonte (Wareham) went 2-for-3 and Wiley Knight (Tabor) added a base hit. Zach Sass (Wareham) collected his first American Legion Baseball hit w/ a single in the fifth inning and finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

Marshfield, 8 vs. Post #220, 6 (2-4) Allowing three unearned runs in the first inning came back to haunt Post #220 in a tough loss. Offensively, a season high of twelve hits was hopefully a sign of things to come, as Zach Angelo (Tabor) led the offensive charge by going 3-for-4 w/ an RBI and three runs scored. Jeremiah Adams (Tabor) went 2-for-3 w/ three RBI's and Chris Carando (Old Rochester) finished 2-for-3 at the plate. Jimmy Gamache (Tabor), Wiley Knight (Tabor) and Luke Mattar (Old Rochester); each added an RBI base hit, while Tyler Ferdinand (Wareham) collected his first American Legion Baseball hit in the first inning. Nate Strawn (Wareham) pitched five plus innings, while striking out five and allowing four earned runs.

Post #220, 5 vs. Whitman, 0 (3-4) Post #220 snapped a three game losing streak on a great pitching performance from Ryan Plunkett (Old Rochester). Plunkett collected seven strikeouts and only gave up two hits and two walks in six innings of work. Sam Bacchiocchi (Tabor) finished the last frame preserving the shutout. Chris Carando (Old Rochester) went 1-for-2 w/ a run scored, while Luke Mattar (Old Rochester) and Wiley Knight (Tabor); each added an RBI sacrifice fly. For the second straight game, Zach Angelo (Tabor) stayed hot by going 2-for-3 w/ 2 triples and three RBI's.

WEEK #3  -

Post #220, 4 vs. Duxbury, 2 (4-4) Ian Gray (Old Rochester) pitched six plus innings and allowed only one earned run, while collecting five strikeouts along the way. Tyler Ferdinand (Wareham) produced the game winning hit in the bottom of the fourth inning, as Nate Strawn (Wareham) crossed the plate. Ferdinand went 2-for-4, while Strawn collected his first American Legion Baseball hit w/ a double. Zach Angelo (Tabor) continued his hitting streak by collecting two hits, while Luke Mattar (Old Rochester) and Jimmy Gamache (Tabor) added two hits of their own. Also, Nick Mathieu (Old Rochester) collected his first American Legion Baseball hit in the fifth inning and Sam Bacchiocchi (Tabor) picked up his second save; by retiring the final two batters in the seventh inning.

Post #220, 9 vs. Hawkeye, 5 (5-4) Tim Reilly (Wareham) went the distance, as he did not allow a run after the third inning. Reilly earned his third win of the season; finishing w/ eight strikeouts and allowing only two earned runs. Zach Angelo (Tabor), Jimmy Gamache (Tabor), Brett Labonte (Wareham) and Luke Mattar (Old Rochester) all collected two hits apiece, while Angelo, Gamache and Mattar accounted for five RBI's. Tyler Ferdinand (Wareham) scored three runs and Sam Bacchiocchi (Tabor) went 1-for-3 w/ a run scored.

Post #220, 11 vs. Middleboro, 1 (6-4) Nate Strawn (Wareham) pitched a complete game effort w/ out allowing a walk, as Post #220 pushed their winning streak to four games. Strawn allowed six hits and collected four strikeouts along the way. Offensively, not only did Jared Gamache (Tabor) collect his first American Legion Baseball hit, he enjoyed a 3-for-3 night w/ two doubles, four RBI's and a run scored. Tyler Ferdinand (Wareham) scored two runs, and Luke Mattar (Old Rochester) went 1-for-2 w/ an RBI. Brett Labonte (Wareham) and Ryan Plunkett (Old Rochester); each added a base hit, while Zach Angelo (Tabor) and Nick Mathieu (Old Rochester); each hit a triple. Wiley Knight (Tabor) went 2-for-3 w/ an RBI and a run scored, and Chris Carando (Old Rochester) added a key two RBI base hit.

WEEK #4  -   

Hanover, 4 vs. Post #220, 2 (6-5) The four game winning streak came to a end in Hanover. Post #220 stranded eight runners on base and committed multiple mistakes in which Hanover took advantage of their opportunity. Ryan Plunkett (Old Rochester) pitched four-plus innings and allowed only six hits while collecting four strikeouts. Sam Bacchiocchi (Tabor) came in to get out of a bases loaded jam w/ a strikeout in the bottom of the fifth inning. Offensively, Nate Strawn (Wareham) went 2-for-3 w/ an RBI and three stole bases. Chris Carando (Old Rochester) went 2-for-3 w/ a stolen base and Luke Mattar (Old Rochester) went 1-for-2 w/ a stolen base and one run scored. 

Post #220, 6 vs. Pembroke, 2 (7-5) Zach Sass (Wareham) pitched six-plus strong innings, while only allowing six hits and collecting one strikeout, as Post #220 started the second half of the summer schedule w/ a win. Jared Gamache (Tabor) minimized any damage and finished the remainder of the sixth inning. Sam Bacchiocchi (Tabor) closed out the game w/ a 1-2-3 final frame. Chris Carando (Old Rochester) and Wiley Knight (Tabor) collected two hits apiece, while Tyler Ferdinand (Wareham), Brett Labonte (Wareham) and Ryan Plunkett (Old Rochester); each added a base hit.

Post #220, 11 vs. Rockland, 5 (8-5) Post #220 came through w/ having base runners on, as they matched their season high in runs scored. Ryan Plunkett (Old Rochester) opened up the scoring w/ a bases clearing double, while Luke Mattar (Old Rochester) went 3-for-4 w/ an RBI. Zach Angelo (Tabor), Chris Carando (Old Rochester), Wiley Knight (Tabor) and Nick Mathieu (Old Rochester); each added a base hit. Ian Gray (Old Rochester) pitched five plus innings, allowing only three hits and tossing seven strikeouts on the hill. Cy Bariteau (Wareham) relieved Gray in the sixth to induce the final two outs of the inning. Bariteau finished the game by allowing only one run and collecting a strikeout along the way. 

WEEK #5  -

Hingham, 8 vs. Post #220, 2 (8-6) Post #220 was only able to come up w/ four hits on the night as Zach Sass (Wareham) went 2-for-3 w/ an RBI. Zach Angelo (Tabor) added a base hit and Wiley Knight (Tabor) had a third inning double. Ryan Plunkett (Old Rochester) pitched five plus innings and allowed only six hits, while collecting three strikeouts. Sam Bacchiocchi (Tabor) came in to relieve Plunkett and allowed one run, on two hits and two walks.

Brockton, 12 vs. Post #220, 3 (8-7) The game was tied 3-3 after the first inning, but Brockton was able to score nine unanswered runs going away. Tyler Ferdinand (Wareham) went 2-for-3, while Sam Bacchiocchi (Tabor) added a double. Zach Angelo (Tabor), Brett Labonte (Wareham) and Ryan Plunkett (Old Rochester); each added a base hit.

WEEK #6  -

Post #220, 5 vs. Sandwich, 2 (9-7) Tim Reilly (Wareham) pitched a complete game effort, helping to keep the playoff hopes alive. Reilly finished w/ seven strikeouts and allowed only two earned runs. Tyler Ferdinand (Wareham) went 2-for-4 w/ two RBI's and Ryan Plunkett (Old Rochester) added two hits as well. Nate Strawn (Wareham) started the scoring w/ an RBI double down the left field line. Jimmy Gamache (Tabor) chipped in w/ an RBI single, while Brett Labonte (Wareham) and Luke Mattar (Old Rochester); each added a base hit.

Post #220, 3 vs. Marshfield, 1 (10-7) Ryan Plunkett (Old Rochester) pitched a gem as he struck out eleven Marshfield hitters. In back to back strong pitching performances for Post #220 starting pitchers, Plunkett allowed only two hits and one earned run on the night. Chris Carando (Old Rochester) went 3-for-4 w/ a run scored, while Wiley Knight (Tabor) went 2-for-4. Zach Angelo (Tabor), Sam Bacchiocchi (Tabor) and Brett Labonte (Wareham); each added a base hit. Luke Mattar (Old Rochester) added a key seventh inning insurance run on an RBI base hit, up the middle.

Hingham, 1 vs. Post #220, 0  (10-8)

Post #220, 1 vs. Bridgewater, 0 (11-8)

Post #220, 1 vs. Bridgewater, 0 (12-8)

WEEK #7  -

Plymouth, 8 vs. Post #220, 4 (12-9) Post #220 finishes the regular season as the 7th seed in Disrtict 10 for a chance to make it to the MA Intrastate Tournament. Zach Angelo (Tabor) tied up the contest w/ a three-run blast in the fifth inning only to see Plymouth score the final four runs of the game. Tyler Ferdinand (Wareham) went 2-for-4 w/ a run scored, while Wiley Knight (Tabor) and Brett Labonte (Wareham); each went 2-for-3. Nick Mathieu (Old Rochester) went 1-for-2 and Nate Strawn (Wareham) went 1-for-3 w/ an RBI. Post #220 will now face this same Plymouth team in the first round of the playoffs.    

END of the regular season....... 

PLAYOFFS (best of three) vs. Plymouth

Game 1 - Plymouth, 12 vs. Post #220, 2 (12-10) Although Post #220 jumped out to an early two run lead in game one of the best of three seies, Plymouth scored 12 unanswered runs for the win. Ian Gray (Old Rochester) pitched well in the first three innings, but ultimately took the loss by allowing six hits and five earned runs. Sam Bacchiocchi (Tabor) led offensively by going 2-for-3 w/ an RBI, while Chris Carando (Old Rochester), Brett Labonte (Wareham), Wiley Knight (Tabor), and Nick Mathieu (Old Rochester); each added a base hit.

Game 2 - Post #220, 4 vs. Plymouth, 2  (13-10) In a great baseball game, Post #220's stellar defense forces a deciding game three in Plymouth for a chance to move on to the sectional playoff round. Tim Reilly (Wareham) pitched w/ total confidence in a complete game effort, while allowing only six hits and two earned runs. Every batter in the lineup reached base for Post #220, as Zach Angelo (Tabor) led the way w/ two hits and Luke Mattar (Old Rochester) connected on a two out, two-run double; that tied the game in the third inning. Tyler Ferdinand (Wareham), Chris Carando (Old Rochester), Brett Labonte (Wareham), and Wiley Knight (Tabor); all added a base hit. Nate Strawn (Wareham) started off the bottom of the sixth w/ a double that landed halfway up the left field fence and then stole third base. Strawn would eventually score the go ahead run on a wild pitch. Sam Bachiocchi (Tabor) added a key insurance run; w/ an RBI base hit up the middle that plated Zach Sass (Wareham).     

Game 3 - Plymouth, 9 vs. Post #220, 0 (13-11) Post #220's season comes to an abrupt end after being shutout by Plymouth pitching. Chris Carando (Old Rochester), Nick Mathieu (Old Rochester), and Nate Strawn (Wareham) were able to pick up the only hits on the day.
