20-run games have history at NM

Posted by Warren Kent on May 02 2018 at 05:00PM PDT

In the history of North Muskegon baseball, which dates back to 1935, the Norse have been involved in 37 games where one of the two teams scored at least 20 runs. Twice in NM history, both teams scored 20 or more runs. In 1999, the Norse lost 21-20 to Fremont, and during the County tournament in 2001, the Norse defeated Ravenna 22-20. The 20-run games had its beginning in the first ever game the Norse played as Montague put a 23-9 hurt on NM in 1935. The most runs allowed by the Norsemen is 31 in 1959 when Muskegon Catholic Central defeated NM 31-9. The Norsemen’s high-water mark is 32 in 2015 when NM blanked Hart 32-0. Altogether, the Norse has lost 20 games when the opposing team score 20 or more runs, and NM has won 17 games when it scored 20 or more runs.
