Carolina Elite

In December of 2012 the First Carolina Elite Scholarship in memory of Paul Roberts, father of Courtney Roberts, was awarded to Kendall McKinney (UNCG freshman) for $1,000 by his family.  Like Paul, Kendall was part of the initial organization of this travel organization that has evolved into the Carolina Elite.  Paul was a big supporter of the sport through coaching Mauldin Dixie Youth,  Carolina Sandlappers, and working with Rick & Sarah Pauly and upstate pitchers. He also encouraged Tony Genovese to start coaching a high level team in SC to compete with other states at their level so they could obtain scholarships. 

In the coming years through senior player donations of equipment back to the organization and Corporate sponsorship a scholarship will be awarded at the annual Christmas party to a deserving player in Paul’s memory.  I can’t think of a better way to remember him and the time he spent devoted to the sport and girls he loved.

Carolina Elite 16U National Showcase team tryouts for spring/summer are December 27th at 11:00. Location is Christ Church School 245 Cavalier Dr, Greenville SC 29607. This team is open to players nationally and already has players from Indiana to Florida. The Team already has its invite to Premier Nationals in Huntington Beach, CA as well as top national showcases. Some of the tournaments are listed below.
