CHSHL SIGNUPS and LEAGUE NEWS

It's that time again - the first warmups for this season start September 10. The Cleveland Heights Senior Hockey League schedule will undergo a significant change for 2003-04. All League games will now be played on Monday and Wednesday nights, and we will have both rinks on those nights. The game times on Monday will be 9:45 on the South Rink and 10:15 on the North Rink. The game times on Wednesday will be 9:30 on the South Rink and 10:00 on the North Rink. Pickup will be Sunday at 10:00 and Thursday at 9:30, both on the North Rink. LEAGUE/PICKUP SIGNUP INFORMATION
  • LEAGUE PLAY – Open to Intermediate and Advanced Players only. Determination of skill level (Novice, Intermediate, Advanced) will be made by the Senior Hockey Committee. League players must be at least 22 years of age by December 31, 2003. The League will be limited to 96 skaters. Plans are for eight teams, each of which will play 24 games, with each team playing generally once per week on either Monday (9:45 or 10:15 pm) or Wednesday (9:30 or 10:00 pm). The schedule will be released late in September. Helmets and HECC-approved face masks or half shields are required. The first six sessions, devoted to evaluation of new players and practice for all players, are as follows:
    • Monday, September 15, 22, 29 (9:45 pm South Rink for new players, 10:15 pm North Rink for returning players)
    • Wednesday, September 10, 17, 24 (9:30 pm South Rink for new players, 10:00 pm North Rink for returning players)
  • PICKUP HOCKEY – open to Novice, Intermediate and Advanced players who are at least 18 years of age by December 31, 2003. Helmets and HECC-approved face masks or half shields are required. There are two separate sessions available:
    • Sundays at 10:00 pm North Rink, starting on September 14, 2003
    • Thursdays at 9:30 pm South Rink, starting on September 11, 2003
  • ICE FEES
    • RESIDENT
      • One pickup session or League- $70
      • Both pickup sessions or League and pickup- $135
    • NON-RESIDENT
      • One pickup session or League- $120
      • Both pickup sessions or League and pickup $230
    • Goalies (dressed in full equipment) for Pickup do not have to pay.
  • LEAGUE FEE
    • New players who did not play in the League last year- $195
    • Returning players who were registered in the League last year- $145

Spring and Summer Pickup Hockey!

Tuesday, May 6 10:00 pm Thursday, May 8 10:45 pm Tuesday, May 13 10:00 pm Thursday, May 15 10:45 pm June 3 through August 14, every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:15 pm. Cost per session $5 for Cleveland Heights residents, $7 for nonresidents. No charge for goalies. Cost for the ENTIRE SUMMER is $60 for Cleveland Heights residents, $90 for nonresidents. No charge for goalies. Helmet and eye protection required. Each session limited to first 30 skaters, so get there early. Rink doors will be locked about 15 minutes after start of session. There will probably be more pickup after August 14 until the fall season starts in September, check back here later for more information! imageimage

GREEN WINS

The Green team was victorious over Blue Sunday night to clinch the Kallie Cup! Mike Paris went out with a bang by scoring a hat trick - (we'll miss you Mike!) Congratulations Green Team! Official scores will be posted later monday evening.imageimage

Green takes game 3 - looks to win championship

The Green team won game 3 by a score of 6-1. Green is now up 2-1 in the series against Blue and could potentially win the championship on Sunday, April 27 at 10:15 pm. image

Blue swipes game in OT - series tied 1-1

Green led most of the game 2-1 until Blue scored with about 3 minutes left to tie it up and then went on to win in OT 3-2. Steve Spackey was credited with the game winner assisted by Mike Seidman. The series is now tied 1 game a piece - Green and Blue's next game is Thursday, April 24 at 10:45 pm. image
