2004 Overnight Relay Results
2004 featured two teams, at least, until 4 am when they merged. All Varsity Runners, and most JV runners, ran a mile repeat workout to start the relay. Each runner ran a mile, handed to their partner, rested while the partner ran, and then the first runner ran again. Several teams put in 5 or 6 (or more) miles in rapid succession.
When it became too difficult to keep two teams together, Team 1 was merged into team 2, who was ahead on miles.
Coach Davis' inability to time two teams led to a complete computer system meltdown, which is why some runners times were estimated. Quick thinking by alert parents keep the 100 mission alive.
2004 was the first relay on the new track.
