Mexico City Red Devils History

Posted by Jeff Proctor on Jan 22 2009 at 09:06PM PST

Diablos Rojos del México is a professional baseball team in the Mexican League. This team is located in Mexico City. The team name, Diablos Rojos del México, means Red Devils of Mexico. It is often believed that they are named after the Cincinnati Reds, the first professional baseball team. That is, however, not the case.

Diablos Rojos del Mexico is the team that I signed with when I turned pro in 1994. After spring training I was traded to the Veracruz Eagles. Diablos Rojos is a team with a lot of tradition and if you play profesional baseball in Mexico during the summer "Los Diablos" is the team to play for. Monterrey is another great team in the same league with as much as tradition as the Diablos Rojos.
