Falcons short handed, drop two in a row

Posted by Antiwan Easley at Feb 19, 2008 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

If you looked down the bench at the last few games it hasn't taken you long to see that the bench has been reduced.  Due to some injuries the the Falcons have been playing with very low numbers but the effort has been great.

The Falcons on Friday took Wayzata to the edge after being down by double digits early the Falcons stormed back led by the energetic play of Liz Wilson and Ali Hoefer.   The Falcons had a chance to win it at the buzzer but feel short by two. Wilson led all scorers with 12 points, Hoefer pitched in 11 and Steph and Kristi Loobeck had 11 and 9 respectively.

The Falcons then hosted Hopkins on Tuesday.  With Amanda Viehauser out again with injury the Falcons came out very strong showing they are still a strong team. The Falcons went into half down 2.  But in the end the Royals put together a string of baskets to top the Falcons 63-50.  Hoefer led all Falcon scorers with 15.

Next up the Falcons will wrap up the regular season against Edina on Senior Night.  Come out tomorrow and support the girls and enjoy the halftime performance of the 5th and 6th grade travel teams.

Solid team Victory

Posted by Antiwan Easley at Feb 11, 2008 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

The Falcons certainly seem to be putting back together the puzzle.  After losing Nicole Dooher to injury a few weeks back during the Roosevelt game many pieces to the puzzle needed to be put together and versus Minnetonka the Falcons seemed to be headed that way.

Amanda Viehauser led all scorers with 22 points in a 61-42 victory over conference for Minnetonka.  Alyssa Marschner pited in 12 and Ali Hoefer 8.  Stephanie Loobeck had 7 points and Liz Wilson pitched in 7 off the bench.

The win pushed the Falcons record to 19-3 with a conference record of 3-2.

The Falcons return to play this Friday at Wayzata.
