Falcons use strong 2nd Half to win over Woodbury
After coming out with a slow first half, managing only 12 points, the Falcons hit all cylinders to defeat Woodbury in OT 47-41. IN the 2nd half the Falcons hit their first 9 shots from the field to battle back from a poor 1st half. The Falcons where to much from the inside as Stephanie Loobeck scored 13 and Amanda Viehauser added 14. Next up the Falcons are headed to Alexandria for a tournament on the 28th and 29th.
NOTE: Viehauser, Stephanie Loobeck and Nicole Dooher were all named to the All tournament team. Maddie Smith and Andrea Fossum represented the Flacons well in the 3 point contest.
Falcons win opener of WWW tourney
Behind the 18 points of Nicole Dooher the Falcons (7-1) took down the Polars of North St Paul 66-25. The game featured every Falcon team member touching the floor. The Falcons will now take on Woodbury tonight at 8pm at Woodbury.
In between games Andrea Fossum represented the Falcons well in the 3 pt contest.
The Falcons on Friday took on a very quick St Paul Johnson team that had the ability to shoot the lights out. But behind some strong Guard play led by Andrea Fossum and Alli Hoefer, the Falcons took down Johnson to extend their record to 6-1.
Fossum pitched in 11 and Hoefer added 8. Amanda Viehauser had another solid night that included 16 rebounds and 14 points.
The Falcons will now hit the tournament road as they will compete in the Woodbury Holiday tournament this Thursday and Friday and follow that up with a tournament in Alexandria next week.
Tryouts were completed last week and the Falcons participated in the scrimmages hosted by Hopkins this last weekend. Coaches walked away filling very good about the potential of this years team.
