Preseason Information

Posted by Antiwan Easley at Oct 18, 2009 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Dear Lady Falcons and Parents,

The 2009-10 basketball season is rapidly approaching and we at Armstrong are excited about the players and parents that are going to be part of our basketball family.  Like the players, the coaching staff has been working diligently in preparation for this upcoming season. We want to give you some information about our basketball program and let you know some of the expectations for the season. The first thing we want potential players and parents to know is that we run a first-class program. Our current players, parents and coaches are very passionate about the direction that our basketball program is headed, and we won’t accept an attitude that will hinder our success.  We are looking for student-athletes that display commitment, integrity and work ethic. If you want to work hard, have fun, and be a winner, Falcon basketball is for you.

Registration: All students must register in the Activities Office or go online to

www.ahs.rdale.org  under “Activities/Athletics” to download registration forms.  This form needs to be completed, signed, and delivered to the Activities Office prior to the tryout period or start of the season. If you played a fall sport you will only need to pay the fee. You will also need to stop into the activity office and ask Sharon to switch your information over to girl’s basketball. If you are on free or reduced lunch, stop into the activities office and ask about a reduced registration fee.  The fee will be $200.00.  All players must have current physicals before they can participate.  (Physicals are good for three years).

Tryouts: All tryouts will be evaluated by the high school coaching staff. Players will be evaluated on athletic ability (skill), coachability, and attitude. Final team selections will be made by Wednesday, Nov. 18th.

Website: We have a terrific website up and running.  A lot of information can be found and questions can be answered there.  The website is: http://eteamz.active.com/ahsgirlsbasketball/
