Equipment Handout

Equipment Pickup will be held this Tuesday and Thursday night, July 26th and 28th, up at the football field from 7pm-9pm both nights. Please make sure that you bring a check made out to BYC for $400 as a deposit for the equipment. The check will be returned to you at the end of the season when you return the equipment. You must register online PRIOR to picking up your child's equipment.

 

For each child you are receiving equipment for, please have $5 to donate for homecoming costs for the year.

 

As you all know, the field can be extremely packed during home games. This season, the football board is selling raffle tickets for parking spots right in front of the field field for the season. Each ticket is $10. The parking spot will be yours for all home games, as well as the preseason game, post season games, and the pep- rally.

 

As a reminder, you will need to provide a doctor's note saying that it is ok for your child to participate in contact football this year. There is no special form for this. A signed letter by your doctor will suffice. You must have this note turned in prior to the 3rd day of camp of your child will not be able to participate in the contact drills.

Important Information about the 2011 Season !!!

 

DELAYED START OF FOOTBALL CAMP

  • Based on feedback from parents last year, the BYC Football Committee has decided to push back the start of football camp to Monday, August 8th (instead of Monday, August 1st)
  • We thought it would be better to give all families a week off this year since there are a lot of families whose son/daughter play other sports throughout the summer and then do not get a break before football starts.
  • However, this means is that we only have 3 weeks before school begins for practice. Bert Bell allows up to 10 hours of practice per week prior to school starting. Depending upon which team your son/daughter is on, you may or may not be practicing Monday - Friday in August once we get started.

Hello all, 

Yes, that's right, football is right around the corner.

The first thing that needs to be done before we can start teaching hitting, tackling, etc... is to prepare the field, press box, and pads for football. We need as many people as we can to help with the following: 

  • Cleaning out the garage
  • Remove all fencing from the football field
  • Assemble 2 new blocking sleds
  • Press box to be cleaned out
  • Pads to be wiped down
  • Press Box to be painted blue
  • Bleachers moved 
  • All trash cans to be emptied and moved around the football field
  • All practice fields need to be painted (have no fear, we have a new sprayer for this)
  • Upstairs meeting room to be cleaned out. 

We are looking to start at 8am and hope to be done as soon as we can. Obviously, the more people we have the quicker we can get this done. Thank you for your support!!!!

Important Information about the 2011 Season !!!

 

Parents, 


The BYC Football Committee continues to evaluate our current football program and making changes that will allow us to continue to have a successful program.  I know that some of you have already registered on-line for this upcoming football season.  Below are a few updates... 

  • NEW EQUIPMENT HAS ARRIVED:  We ordered new football helmets and shoulder pads this year. They have already come in and will be given out on a first come, first serve basis.  
  • EARLY UNIFORM (helmets, pads, etc) HANDOUTS
    • Will be held on Monday, June 6th and Wednesday, June 8th from 7pm-9:30pm at Gillespie Park (200 Kirk Road, Garnet Valley, PA 19060). 
    • Registration is currently open online at www.brandywineyouthclub.com.
    • Please note that you will NOT be able to register at the Early Uniform Handout
    • Please try to register early to take advantage of the Early Uniform Handout.  This also allow the BYC Football Committee to assess the number of boys participating so we can better determine our coaching and team needs prior to August.
