Welcome to Shanghai Anzacs AFC

Welcome to the home site of

SHANGHAI ANZACS AFC 2018 - 2019

Sponsored by The Shed

The Anzacs are stalwarts of the SIFL, celebrating our tenth anniversary season in 2014-15. Despite our name we are made up of players of many different nationalities, just with the common ideas of enjoying our football, enjoying our beer, and baiting the Shanghai Shooters whenever possible.  We play in the SIFL first division and consistently strieve for our dream result, which would be third on goal difference, so having the best possible results across the season whilst not actually being promoted to the far-too difficult, fast, and serious Premier League. Last season we fell short of this, but hey there is always next year.

We are also regular football tourists, making the annual pilgrimage to Manila to take part in the Manila International 7s, and will also particpate in the Bangkok tournament in June 2019.

Much respect goes to our regular sponsors, the The Shed at 698 Shaanxi Bei Road. We give them thanks, and more importantly lots of money as we spend many a Saturday in the the Shed nursing a pint discussing how we were unlucky in our last game, but our respective Premier League teams are brilliant / rubbish / overpaid (delete as appropriate).

We are always on the lookout for new players. If you fancy a game the best option is to come to our training, Wednesday nights at 8:30pm at Jing’An stadium (Jiaozhou Road / Changping Road), otherwise get in touch with any of us at the addresses below. Our games are every Saturday, either out at Waigaoqiao or Songjiang (we provide a bus and beers for the way home).

Welcome to the homepage of the Shanghai International Football League, Shanghai's premier football league. This amateur league was formed in 1995. Many players from many different countries have played in this league, and we like to think that it has already became one of the most competitive Expat Amateur leagues in Asia. Testament to that is when teams such as Shooters and Japan regularly win overseas/international tournaments.

Although this website has been constructed in the helping of the organisation of the league, we also hope that you enjoy our site, and that some of the information is of good use to you.
If you are looking for a team to play with, then click on the teams tag, and choose which team you think you will be most suited to. Alternatively, you can leave your contact details on the message board.

Media coverage

The League's results, fixtures and game reports are published weekly by Urbanatomy Media under that's Shanghai online magazine.
