2012 COLTS CHEER IS HERE!

First off, Welcome to the 2012 COLTS CHEER SEASON!  I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and some of the new and exciting plans we have this year for our program.  My name is Laura Brown, and I am the Cheer Director this season.  We are excited to announce, drum roll please, OUR NEW SENIOR SQUAD!!  Yes, we will now be offering Competitive Recreational Cheer for high school levels.  Our Lady Colts will be attending many competitions, as well as helping with our younger squads.  Fees are $550.00, and this includes competition fees, uniform, warmups, bow, shoes and all that you will need to be a winning squad!  LET'S SHOW THE SOUTHSIDE WHAT THE COLTS ARE ALL ABOUT!

We are currently collecting uniforms that no longer fit or will not be used this year.  If you have a uniform that you would like to sell, please contact me at coltscheer@comcast.net.  I can put your sizes in our database, and you can earn money once the uniform sells!

Dates to keep in mind:  The beginning of our practice season will be on July 23rd for our 3rd Annual Cheer Camp.  Some Head Coaches may decide to start a week earlier, so please keep that in mind.

SAVE THE DATE - Competitions dates to keep in mind at this time (we may not attend all, but these are possibilities):

September 28th and 29th

November 3rd

November 11th

November 17th

December 1st-2nd - STATE COMPETITIONS

Registration dates and times are now posted on the Home Page.  We are accepting Cash Payment Plans to help spread the costs for families.  Please plan on attending one of the earlier registrations to set this up or to find out more about our Cheer Program.

At this time, Deadline for 8th Grade and under 2012 Colts Cheer is June 16th.  ALL CHEERLEADERS MUST ATTEND FINAL REGISTRATION JUNE 16th OR MAKE THE PROPER ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE CHEER DIRECTOR BEFORE THAT DATE.  Please understand and keep in mind that we will be strictly adhering to all deadlines for Cheer Registrations.  There will be NO EXCEPTIONS.  It takes a whole lot of time and dedication to make a successful program for our girls, and in order to be the best we can be, we must follow the deadlines.

I am working very hard to make this program affordable to all athletes this year.  I know we offer more than any organization out there, and remember, you do get $200.00 in raffle tickets to sell.  You get to keep that money!

If you are a returning COLTS cheerleader and still have a uniform and warmups in good condition that fit, and you have your bag, you may be eligible for a discount this season.  Cheer fees this year are still $300.00, however, if you bring in your uniform and warmups to Final Registration and the Director of Cheer approves that they are in good condition and fit properly, Cheer fees will only be $240.00!!  Again, THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS PROCEDURE.  You must prove that everything fits properly and is in good condition to receive this discount at Final Registration.

For New Colts Cheerleaders and returning families that are in need of a uniform - we will hopefully have some used uniforms for CASH purchase at FINAL REGISTRATION.  We will also have Varsity at only our Final Registration to fit girls with new uniforms.  Cost for Cheer Registration and a new uniform is $340.95.

Here is a breakdown of fees:

$240.00 - Returning Cheerleader with a good condition uniform and warmups that fit as well as the bag.  Fees also include:  Competition shoes, Bow, socks, Competitions fees (except State), new undergarments and gym time.

$300.00 - New or Returning Cheerleader that has a good condition uniform that fits.  Please bring your uniform with you to Final Registration to make sure.  Fees include:   Competition shoes, Competition Bow, socks, Competitions fees (except State), new undergarments, gym time, and new warmups and new bag.

$340.95 - New or Returning Cheerleader that is in need of a uniform and could not purchase a used one.  Fees include:  Competition shoes, Competition Bow, socks, Competition fees (except State), new undergarments, gym time, new uniform, and a new bag.

$392.95 - New or Returning Cheerleader that will receive a new uniform, new warmups, new bag, Competitions shoes, Competition Bow, socks, Competitions fees (except State), new undergarments, and gym time.

Depending on your individual Head Coach, there may be additional fees for game bows, hair pieces, extra competitions, state fees, or other parties/festivities.  Please remember to make sure your uniforms fit.  I will not allow a discount without approval.  My best suggestion is to bring your uniform and warmups to final registration to be sure.  After July 13th, the Colts Organization will not be ordering any uniforms.  Without a good condition properly fitting uniform, you cannot be in competitions.  It will be up to individuals to procure their own uniform after that date, and unfortunately at a much higher cost.  So, please follow and respect the rules so that we can help your family save money.

We will once again be fundraising with Cookie Dough as well as a few newer programs to help pay for the rising costs of competitions, decent and safe practice spaces, as well as uniform necessities. While it is never necessary to do the Cheer Fundraisers, we highly encourage all to participate.  Our Cheer Banks were extremely successful last year, and we hope to continue helping families afford their expenses.

Please contact the Director of Cheer if you have any questions - coltscheer@comcast.net

Many of our coaches will once again participate in IRCA (Illinois Recreational Cheerleading Association) Voices classes.  Thanks to the wonderful organization IRCA for all that they do to improve our sport regardless of what others may think!  Coaches will receive an IRCA certification, which will greatly improve the success of all the teams this year.
