Falcons coast past St.Thomas 8-1

3 games and 3 stellar complete game performances. Junior lefthander R.J. Fondon was dazzeling on the mound allowing just 4 hits and striking out 14 as the Falcons won the Cooper City Earlybird Classic for the 2nd straight year. Flanagan beat St. Thomas Aquinas 8-1 pounding out 13 hits on the night. Senior centerfielder Chris Connelly went 4 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored while Rolando Gomez and Joel Carranza both went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Luis Penate added 2 hits including a double. Flanagan improved to 3-0 while St. Thomas drops to 2-1 on the season.

Falcons Flex their Muscle past Western

Flanagan(2-0) beat Western(1-1) 11-0 in 6 innings tonight as the Falcons pounded out 14 hits. Junior 3B Rolando Gomez started the scoring off in the 1st inning with a solo home run to right field and would finish the night 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI. Flanagan would plate 4 runs in the 4th inning after Joel Carranza(3 for 4, 2 doubles), Mitch Massard(1 for 2), T.J. Foard(1 for 3, 2 RBI) and Jesse Mesa(2 for 4, 2 doubles, 2 runs) all hit doubles in the inning. Senior Catcher Nick Navarro would have the biggest offensive night going 3 for 4 blasting 2 home runs while driving in 4 RBI. The Falcons had 11 extra base hits on the night. The recipient of all the offense was Junior right hander Rudy Miret who earned the win pitching a complete game, 4 hit shut out in his 1st Varsity start of his career. Flanagan is in the Championship game of the Cooper City Tournament and will face the winner of Cooper City and St. Thomas (who play tomorrow) on Saturday night.

Falcons soar past Eagles in Cowboys Classic

Flanagan(1-0) defeated Douglas(0-1) in the Cooper City Classic Tuesday night 5-1. The Falcons where led by Sophomore David Thomas, the righthander was spectacular in his Varsity debut allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and striking out 11 in a complete game effort. The offense pounded out 8 hits including a 3 run homer from Senior SS Luis Penate in the 6th inning to put the game out of reach. Flanagan who is ranked #1 Nationally by Collegiate Baseball and #1 in the State Class 6A poll will play Western Thursday night at 6:30 in the 2nd round of the Cowboys Classic.

Falcons add 3 Official JUCO signees

The Flanagan Falcons are proud to announce 3 more college signees. Shortstop Luis Penate and 2B/OF Jesse Mesa have signed with Central Florida Community College in Orlando while catcher Joel Carranza opted to stay local and play for Nationally ranked Broward Community College. With the three JUCO signings, 7 Seniors have already signed their National Letter of Intent during the early signing period. The Flanagan staff, coaches, players and parents are all proud these young men and their accomplishment. Now it's time for the 2007 season and another run at a STATE TITLE!!!
