The Flanagan Falcons bounced back from their 1st loss of the season by defeating crosstown rival Cooper City 3-1 at Cooper City HS. The battle between the top teams in District 12 turned out to be a pitchers duel between the Falcons R.J. Fondon and the Cowboys Clayton Suss. Both pitchers would be in the game till the end and Fondon(2-0) would prevail allowing just 1 run on 4 hits and 4 strikeouts. Suss was stellar striking out 9 and allowing just 3 hits as well, fortunately 1 of those hits was a 2 Run home run off the bat of Joel Carranza(2) in the top of the 7th inning giving the Falcons the lead. Nick Navarro provided the other 2 hits, both base hits to right field would spark scoring opportunities. Zach Jackson would provide the speed on the bases as Navarro's courtesy runner. Jackson stole 3 bases and scored 2 runs on the night. Flanagan(5-1, 1-1) will host Miami Springs tomorrow night. Cooper City dropped their record to(3-4,1-1).
