Tigers start strong

Posted by Tony Camp at Aug 28, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The tigers came out of the gate well with a sweep of a double header with the Decatur River Rats at Veterans Park Sunday, winning the first game 3-0 and completing the sweep with a 6-3 victory in game 2. All 6 pitchers, Brandon, Chris, Johnny, Todd, Anthony & Logan looked sharp. Our defense had a few rough spots but settled in to look smooth toward the end. Decatur stranded several runners as the Tigers would come up with the clutch plays and the pitchers made the right pitches when it counted. Logan, Chris and Johnny led the way with 3 hits apiece and Anthony added 2 to head up the offense. Congratulations to the guys, a great start. We are on to Loudon, TN next weekend, GO TIGERS!

What about this Tigers Squad ??????

Posted by Tony Camp at Aug 12, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The 14 and under Alabama Tigers baseball team are one team within the new Alabama Tigers Baseball Club based in North Alabama. The Tigers are determined to be one of the best organizations around. The world of competitive tournament baseball has exploded in the past 3 years, with literally thousands of teams nationwide. The teams are for the serious players who love the game and dedicate themselves to reaching their potential, whatever that may be. Travel ball gives you the opportunity to play with and against all-star quality players on a regular basis. Dreams of helping their High School teams excel and reaching for goals of playing in College and even the professional ranks are frequent with these young boys and young men.
The Tigers are managed by people who have been in the travel baseball arena for some time. All the board members and coaches are strictly volunteers, with a desire to work with some great kids and pass on our love of this game to a new generation. We are building the Baseball Dads of the future, and that in itself is a worthwhile endeavor. We have the benefit of seeing what others have done right and done wrong. We are calling on that experience to put together an organization that will do things right. Of utmost importance is that we give a select group of talented boys a chance to flourish, build integrity and sportsmanship, while building a lasting love and enjoyment of the game. The Tigers Baseball Club has been established to continue for years in the future. As we grow, we plan for a team at every age level from 9U through 15U in the upcoming years.
The 14 and under age is one where a lot of young men are playing everything. We have structured our team to allow, and even encourage this. Several of the fall commitments are players who are also playing football for their schools. That is great, and we will not interfere with that at all. Your school sports must come first. Most of these players hold baseball nearest to their heart, and consider it their #1 sport. Those are the kids we are looking for.
The Tigers "family" of parents and coaches, as well as some great sponsors, look forward to seeing you !!!

HARD WORK PAYS OFF

Posted by Tony Camp at Jul 30, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Starting with a lot of great ideas and some dedicated individuals, the ALABAMA TIGERS BASEBALL CLUB is finally a reality. We will field at least 4 age group teams for Fall 2004-2005, including the 14U. Our 14U team will play a limited fall schedule, break for School ball in the spring and resume in May. We will be dedicated to teaching these dedicated and skilled young men to play hard, advance their skills, respect each other,  their opponents and the game. We hope to be very successful on the field and off as a T E A M and earn the respect of everyone associated with Travel Baseball.  We will also never forget that we coach and the boys play for the love of the game. Let's face it, if it's not fun then why do it ?  We will work hard & have fun doing it. See you on the field !!

Rocket City Super NIT

Posted by Tony Camp at May 16, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Tigers went head to head with most of the best Elite Majors in the east, including 1/2 the top 10 teams in America. We will never see a group of this qualitiy again, we have seen the best there is and glad we were able to participate. 0-3 but some real positive things came out. I got many compliments around the park, from coaches and spectators, these guys expect to prop their feet up and get 20 run thrashings without breaking a sweat when they see they are up against a AAA team, they did not see that in us. I'm very proud of the effort, right down to the final out. Play the best to be the best you can be.
