The Finals for the Mike Smith Home Run Derby will be held on Saturday June 2nd at 1pm for T-Ball, Pinto and Mustang and at 2pm for the Bronco level. Those four levels will have their Home Run Derby at the Plato fields. Pony will hold their final at 3pm at Stonecrest.

The Kane County Cougars organization is proud to welcome the CDBL in a special event, the 2012 Midwest League All-Star Game and Fan Fest on June 19th, 2012. That morning beginning at 11:30 a.m., the Cougars will host a special Fan Fest to precede the 6 p.m. game. The event will feature a variety of fun including music, opportunities to take batting practice and play catch on the field from 12-2 p.m., autograph sessions, food and more. A rock-climbing wall, trackless train and plenty of kid-friendly attractions such as face painters, jugglers, magicians and balloon artists will all be part of the Fan Fest, too

• The evening’s game will be preceded by an extended-length autograph session featuring both All-Star squads. Former Midwest League All-Stars include Albert Pujols, Prince Fielder and Greg Maddux, among many other former and current big league stars..

• Entertainment that has been finalized for this year’s All-Star Game includes a National Anthem performance by Wayne Messmer, in-game performances by the Zooperstars, live organ music during the game by famed Chicago White Sox organist Nancy Faust, a post-game performance by the Jesse White Tumblers, and an appearance by the Chicago Cubs Dixieland Jazz Band

• A booming fireworks show after the game

• A long-standing Cougars tradition, run the bases after the game.

Tickets are $6.00 per fan! Please complete the ticket form on the attached flyer and return with cash or check to the concession stand at Plato field by June 2, 2012. Tickets will be distributed through your respective baseball team.

The Mike Smith/CDBL Home Run Derby Preliminaries are being held this Sunday, May 20th, at 1pm at the Plato fields.

All current CDBL players are invited to join in the fun and the competition of the 2012 Home Run Derby!

Please arrive by 12:45 to check in and be sure to wear your team jersey.

Home Run Derby Finals will be held Saturday, June 2nd at the Plato field complex during Player Appreciation Day. (Times TBD)

The Home Run Derby is designed for every player to have a turn and have some fun! Players do not need to be able to hit home runs to compete. Points are awarded for hits to different distances of the outfield and the top 10 hitters from each level move on to the finals.
