OPENING DAY is right around the corner so it’s time for our annual field preparation of Donley Field!
After last year’s quieter than normal workday, we are going to be a bit more ambitious in this year’s projects including replacing a bit of the infield dirt on both fields. This is a project we haven’t tackled in a couple years so we need all the help we can get.
Please mark Saturday, February 11, 2012, starting at 8:00 a.m. on your calendar. We hope to be done by 12:00 noon, but any amount of time you can dedicate would be appreciated.
We can always use square shovels, metal rakes and lots of wheelbarrows to move dirt so if you have them, please bring them along. Also, if someone has a pressure washer our fans will appreciate starting the season with clean bleachers.
Lastly, I am looking for season-long volunteers to help with my Grounds Committee during the year and would especially like to have people dedicated to the Lower Field. If this interests you, please email me or catch-up with me on the 11th.
