News and Announcements
The registration will still proceed on March 25, 2018. We will continue with the mandatory AGM meeting from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Registration and Bat Testing will follow from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Lions Gate hall. This time we ask that all Captains arrive before 11:00 am, as the meeting will start promptly at 11:00 am and the doors will be closed and not reopened until the meetings completion. As per the non profit guidelines of Ontario, any bond holder that arrives late will not be permitted to enter the meeting and forfeits their voting rights. There will also be a fine imposed on any bond holders that arrive after 11:00 am or do not attend the meeting at all. There was issues with bond holders arriving late to the last meeting and also not attending the AGM at all.
The fees for the upcoming season are $1,350.00 for returning teams and $1,450.00 for new teams. These fees are due on March 25, 2018. This was previously outlined in the Meeting Minutes which was emailed to all captains. A copy of the meeting meetings are attached for your ease of reference. Sorry it wasn’t clear in the notes that the 25th would be both the AGM meeting continuation and registration. It was mentioned in the actual meeting though. Payment can be made by EMT to firstname.lastname@example.org, cash or company cheque. No personal cheques will be accepted. If paying by EMT make sure to reference your team name and the password should be slopitch.
The voting for the new board will also take place. Bios of those who would like to run for the board will be posted on the website today. The voting process will still stay the same. Anyone who wishes to run for the board will still require to be nominated and seconded.
This years AGM will be held February 25th from 1pm-3pm. It will be held at the Lions Gate Banquet hall.
Address: 386 Blake St, Barrie, ON L4M 1L3
Only one representative per team will be permitted into the meeting as we can only fit so many people due to capacity. If you are unable to attend the meeting you can fill out the Proxy form available on the website, (Under Info→Forms→Documents). This allows you to assign voting power to that person for the meeting.
All bonds must be paid in full and good standing with the league by February 15th (emails being sent to teams individually). If a teams bond is not in good standing by February 15th, they will not be able to attend the AGM meeting.
Rules will be voted on for the 2018 upcoming season at this meeting as well. Only rules submitted directly through the website, ( Info→Rules→Rule Suggestions). Any other form of suggestion not sent through the site will not be added to the meeting.

Their names will be brought up during the meeting, by the Board Chair to see if any Captains would second the nomination.

I am emailing because we have heard through the residents and Ward Councilor that alcohol consumption is occurring at Lennox baseball diamonds. I am emailing the known permit holders to ask that you communicate to your teams/players that alcohol is prohibited in public parks. We are not aware of the specific times and dates and we are not implying that your teams are responsible. However, if you assist us by reminding your teams than we have all done our due diligence to communicate this issue.
Thank you in advance,
Welcome to the Barrie Slo-Pitch Association web site.
