The Spokane Jr. Chiefs have hired Neil Runbeck as their first ever Director of Hockey Operations | Coach in Chief.

With an amazing group of candidates from the US, Canada and Europe, the SAYHA Hockey Director Hiring Committee had a difficult task selecting from such a talented group of individuals. Supported by our Board of Directors, and our own Spokane Jr. Chiefs players who skated at the on ice interviews, we appreciate all of the work put in by the committee. We have no doubt that Neil will be a tremendous addition to SAYHA as we usher in a new chapter of youth hockey here in Spokane.

Most recently Neil has served as the Assistant Director of Hockey Operations for the Boulder Hockey Club in Boulder, Colorado. During that time he obtained his Level 5 Coaching Certification and completed the NARCE Hockey Director Certification.

It was clear during the interview process that Neil has an incredible passion for youth hockey and we are excited about what he brings to the Spokane Jr. Chiefs. On behalf of the Board of Directors, please join us in welcoming Neil and Jessica to Spokane.
