We left the best for last on Hockey Day in Chilliwack. While the Elite Cup was the last cup game played it also the last time some of our Midget players will suit up and play for CMHA. Our association acknowledges many of the 3rd year players that will be moving on after this season. A large number of these players began their hockey life in Initiation and continued throughout their hockey years in Chilliwack Minor.

This includes some players from our Midget AAA team, whom recently made Chilliwack proud with their silver medal in the Provincial Championships in an exciting triple OT game. Prior to the Elite Cup final, in recognition of their outstanding play and achievements this season, the Midget AAA players were center stage while coach Clayton Robinson shared with us their story on the road to the Provincials in Prince George.

Just as important as the Midget AAA season, was also how the players conducted themselves in the final tournament. Larry Krause from BC Hockey wrote,

“I wanted to let you know that the Chilliwack and Coquitlam teams were by far the most classy and sportsmanlike teams at the midget tier 1 championships. Their final game they played against each other had everyone crying tears of pride. It was by far the most emotional and fun game I have ever attended. Every game Chilliwack played, they were disciplined and classy. They played awesome throughout the entire tournament and it was heart breaking to see them lose in triple OT.”

Well done guys – you have made Chilliwack immensely proud!

Congratulations to Midget C6, this season’s Elite Cup champions!
