Nederland falls 14-6 at the hands of Pearland Oilers Varsity

Pearland Oilers Varsity beat Nederland on Friday 14-6 at Clear Brook in five innings.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

Pearland Oilers Varsity took the lead in the third inning and held on for the victory. A groundout by Eddie Redou scored Tyler Kimball and gave Pearland Oilers Varsity the lead for good.

Cody Williams racked up three RBIs on one hit for Pearland Oilers Varsity. He homered in the fourth inning.

Bailey Cummings got the win in relief for Pearland Oilers Varsity. Cummings pitched three innings and allowed one run.

B Smith ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed nine runs in three innings, walked three and struck out none.

The top of the first saw Nederland take an early lead, 3-0. A triple by C Price, bringing home C Broussard and A Klautz started the inning off. Nederland then tacked on more runs when Price scored on a groundout by C Kemp.

Pearland Oilers Varsity scored three runs of its own in the first. Pearland Oilers Varsity scored on an RBI single by Ben Paddock, an RBI single by Seth Mikeska, and a sacrifice fly by Jacob Whitehead.

Pearland Oilers Varsity answered Nederland's top inning with two runs of its own in the second. Pearland Oilers Varsity scored on a two-run single by Paddock.

After a quick strike from Nederland, Pearland Oilers Varsity responded with three runs in the fifth. Pearland Oilers Varsity scored on a hit by pitch, a hit by pitch, and a hit by pitch.
