Kaepa Hollywood Volleyball Club - formerly known as Club Hollywood Volleyball Club - was established in the 2001-2002 playing season by Mr. Richard B. Wyman, Jr., the originator and founder. His inspiration to start Kaepa Hollywood was his youngest daugther, Jackie. Mr. Wyman has over 32 years of experience in playing, coaching, refereeing. This past year he worked as a NCAA, OHSAA, and USA referee. In 2001, he taught in the first OHSAA referee school. In 2002 he established the Youngstown area Elementary Parochial School League to give these students an opportunity to compete and learn all aspects of the sport of volleyball. The purposes of this club is to develop the athletes volleyball skills, promote sportsmanship; inspire respect for the rules of the game; to promote friendship in a competitive environment; to aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one's self in service to her team will advance the well-being of the team, the club and the USA Volelyball Association. It is the goal of Kaepa Hollywood Volleyball Club to provide young people of the area with the opportunity to build the volleyball skills and compete on a regional/national basis with other club teams. To accomplish this, we decided to provide "open-try-outs" and to join and participate in the USA Volleyball Organization. It is our philosophy to provide opportunity for all youth regardless of school affiliation. Kaepa Hollywood Volleyball Club is a nonprofit organization. It is a member driven organization that requires parental support to flourish. All parents are encouraged to participate in the operation of the club by serving as a team representative or volunteer.
