Youth Girls Select Basketball League

We are excited to bring you the new 2020-2021 YGSBL Season. Now under the leadership of Matt Lewis and Erik Loose the league will continue with the same successful format with host sites of Waukesha South for 5th and 6th grades and Waukesha West for 7th and 8th grades. We look forward to working with the high school coaches and volunteers at South and West to ensure the structure of the league stays in place. Thank you for your efforts.
One of the other new things we are working through this year is the re-tooled website. The traditional eteamz website has been taken over by Active Network. We are working with them to retrieve and load information. Please continue to check this site for updates as they become available.

YGSBL 2020-2021 LEAGUE PREVIEW
The YGSBL will continue to field a 64 team set up with 16 teams in each grade level of 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th. Teams that played in the 2018-19 season have the first right to return to the league for the 2019-20 season. Example – If you were a 5th grade team in 2018-19 and played in the YGSBL, your team has the 6th grade spot reserved for the 2019-20 season. Once your team is in the league the league organizers do not remove that team from the league unless it is requested by the team itself or unless significant issues arise. It is rare that an opening occurs. 5th and 6th grade teams play at Waukesha South typically on Sunday’s. 7th and 8th grade teams play at Waukesha West typically on Saturday’ afternoons/early evenings.
Team registration forms will be posted on this website with the* TEAM REGISTRATION DEADLINE of THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1,* 20120.
The league registration fee will remain at $800 for this season.

Game dates with the Waukesha School district are being finalized and will be posted once complete. Teams play 2 games per day with a compact rotation of play a game-sit a game-play game 2-go home. There are 8 game dates throughout the season for a 16 game season. 7 regular season dates and week 8 is the end of league tournament which every team qualifies for.
This is a highly organized and coveted league and rescheduling of games is not allowed. Do not book other games until league dates are finalized! Thank you for your participation.

League Tournament Format
All YGSBL teams qualify for the end of season league tournament and will play 2 games against like seeded opponents based on regular season results.
“A” Division Seeds 1-4, “B” Division Seeds 5-8, “C” Division Seeds 9-12, “D” Division Seeds 13-16

Listed below are the 16 core high school feeder programs that comprise the YGSBL
Each of these programs is fully expected to produce a team at each grade level to keep their spot in the league.

Coaches Information
Please make sure that an informed adult keeps either the score book or clock representing your team at each game. It is important to keep running score, foul count and clearly writes in the FINAL SCORE. This is important for league standings and to track points for/against throughout the year.
