Weber Field Complete

Posted by Cris Bera at Sep 13, 2012 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Thanks to the hard work of many, many volunteers and NLL supporters, the Weber Field reconstruction at Ervan Chew Park is now complete.  Neartown's involvement with the City of Houston was coordinated and driven by Board Member and Fields Manager Patrick Kwiatkowski, so the next time you see him, please thank him for his time and dedication to its completion!

The ballpark looks wonderful so please drive by and see the newest updgrade to our NLL facilities.  If you have any ideas for additional improvements to our ballparks, please contact anyone on our Board and let us know how you might be able to help.

YOUR HELP NEEDED - FINAL STEP FOR WEBER FIELD

Posted by Cris Bera at Aug 22, 2012 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

This Saturday, August 25th, starting at 9:00 a.m., the Neartown Family will be taking the final step to finish the Weber Field reconstruction.  The work at Ervan Chew Park [ http://goo.gl/maps/apGm9 ], in conjunction with the City of Houston, needs to be finished this weekend and WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Although the field has been leveled and our new sprinkler system has been installed, the field now needs grass and seed.  The pallets of grass for the infield will be delivered on Friday and the light manual labor we need to finish placing them should take just a couple hours at the most.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our Fields Director, Patrick Kwiatkowski at patrick@microcinema.com.  Also, if you are part of a Service Organization and would like to take this opportunity to earn community service hours, we will ensure you and your group are recognized for your time with us.

No equipment is required, although if you have light yard tools and a pair of gloves, please bring them.  Thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
