The mission of this Organization shall be to administer a youth league baseball program, under the charter of Little League Baseball, Williamsport, PA, for boys and girls ages 6 through 12 years of age who reside within the Little League Baseball approved geographic boundaries of the town of Braintree, MA, as well as boys and girls ages 6 through 18, regardless of their residence, for the Challenger Division. This organization shall strive to teach boys and girls the game of baseball in an enjoyable, nurturing and safe manner. The league will strive to make sure that every player has an equal opportunity to participate without financial limitations. This organization will also be responsible for the overall operation of the league in terms of divisions, schedules, uniforms, equipment, as well as the responsibilities associated with revenues and expenses. The activities sponsored by the Organization shall be as determined from time to time by the Organization in its sole and absolute discretion given the foregoing purposes and goals of the Organization.

Braintree American’s 11 year old team recently won the District 8 Championship and participated in the State Tournament. They began their District play against Hanson in the opening round with a 4-1 win.
Next up was a cross town meeting with Braintree National with the winner advancing to the Championship round. In a very well played game on both sides American led early 2-0 but National fought its way back tying the game at 2 going into the final inning. American pulled it out in the bottom of the 6th with a squeeze play to advance to the Championship round with a 3-2 win.
The Championship round featured a rematch with Braintree National as they defeated Cohasset in the double elimination tournament to advance. This was the third meeting already this summer between the two with each team winning once. American jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first but National kept battling back in what was another great game between the two and another one run game with American holding on to win 6-5 and winning the District 8 Championship.Following the District Round Braintree American represented District 8 in the State Tournament. In the first game at Sandwich the team never got going and was knocked out of the winners’ bracket with a 12-2 loss to the eventual State Champion.
Needing to win to stay in tourney Braintree hosted Saugus National. The visitors jumped out early to a 2-0 lead in the top half of the first but after that it was all Braintree in a 14-6 win eliminating Saugus and staying alive for the next round.Against Taunton West on the road next Braintree again needed to win to stay in contention. In what was a close game in the first few innings Taunton’s bat’s came alive in the middle innings and went on to win 9-2 eliminating Braintree from the tournament.
