WOHOO! Saturday, June 29, was a winning day for all the MV teams. The Juniors are the D44 Champions. All 3 lower division teams advance to their respective double-elimination Championship Tournaments.

  • The Majors went into the last game in a 3-way tie for first with a 2-1 record. With the scored tied at 10-10 with Moreland in the last game of pool play, in the bottom of the sixth with 2 outs, MV scored the winning run. MV and Sunnyvale each have 3-1 records in Pool 1. Tiebreaker Rule 1 (Head to Head) determines Sunnyvale is Pool 1 Seed 1 and Mountain View is Pool 1 Seed 2.
  • Going into the third and last game of pool play, the 11s had a 2-0 record and enjoyed being in the top spot of Pool 1. However, their advance to the Championship bracket was not assured if they lost in Saturday’s game to SC Westside. The 11s handily beat Westside, 14-3 and finishes the pool with a 3-0 record. MV is Pool 1 Seed 1.
  • The 10s were tied for second (and sitting in the 3rd spot) going into Saturday’s game. In a hard fought game against Los Altos, the 10s won by 1 run to end the game 4-3. With a 3-1 record in pool play, they advance to the Championship Tournament as Pool 2 Seed 2.
