2023 Buckeye Youth Football and Cheer Registration Opening through June 24th
Buckeye Youth Football and Cheer Families,
Registration for the 2023 Pre-K to 6th grade youth season is opening! Please see the attached flyer and buckeyeyouthfootball.com for complete season details including our registration form and all other required documents.
Please join us at Buckeye Day at the Elementary School Wednesday, April 26th 5-9pm for our earliest in person registration date! While visiting all of the great Buckeye vendors and community organizations please find the BYFA table to sign up your football players and cheerleaders. All football players will have the opportunity to size their personalized jersey and shoulder pads.
The following in-person registration dates are at the Liverpool Township Community Center (6801 School St, Valley City, OH 44280) Saturdays May-20, June-3 and June-17 from 9-11am and Wednesday May-24 from 6-8pm. Mail in registration will also be accepted during this period (BYFA, PO Box 570, Valley City, OH, 44280). Participants must attend an in-person date to size personalized football jerseys and for flag players only football pants!
PHYSICALS: All 3rd to 6th grade football players require an active physical on file per OHSAA guidelines to participate in any practice or games. Schedule your player’s physical soon! K-2nd Flag Football and all K-6th Cheer do not require a physical. Physicals from the 2022 season do not apply to 2023.
NEW PRE-K AND KINDERGARTEN (5&6 YEAR OLD) FLAG FOOTBALL DIVISION! Flag football is open to Pre-K players for the first time this season along with kindergarten. Practices will be held at Buckeye with all games played local in Medina. This is a great opportunity for our youngest Bucks to learn the fundamentals in the most developmentally friendly format available.

2023 Buckeye High School Youth Football Camp June 1-2
Please support the yearly Youth Football camp coordinated by Coach Dennison with the Buckeye High School staff and players! Camp is June 1st and 2nd for students entering grades 2-7. Deadline for registration is Friday, May 26th! Registration form is attached here on buckeyeyouthfootball.com.
Last year’s camp was a huge success with a large turnout. This is a great opportunity to interact with our High School coaches and players for early season work. Each camper will also receive a Buckeye Football t-shirt at the end.

2023 Season Information

Offseason planning is underway with our 2023 board elections held at the January meeting. Thank you to out going Secretary Kelly Giles and Vice President Eric Keller for your continued dedication and support. Eric concludes over 18 years of service to Buckeye Youth Football and was instrumental building the program as we know it.

BYFA 2023 Kickoff Board Meeting Sunday, January 22nd 7:00PM
Buckeye Youth Football and Cheer Families,
The BYFA Board will kickoff the 2023 season with our next meeting Sunday, January 22nd 7:00pm at the Liverpool Community Center (6801 School St, Valley City, OH 44280). All are invited to help review our successes and areas we can improve upon to grow our programs. Field improvements, fundraising opportunities, developments in the Lake Erie Youth Football League and many other topics will be covered. All community questions, comments and concerns are welcomed.
Formal voting for 2023 board positions will be held on the 22nd. There are remaining volunteer opportunities! Non-elected areas of need are website & social media coordinator, equipment and concessions managers. Please come with questions and let us know if you can help!

2022 BYFA Football Equipment Return & End of Year Banquets
Buckeye Youth Football Families,
Congratulations to all of our teams on yet another great season. Please see the information below to close our year.
Equipment Return:
Return dates for Padded Flag, Rookie Tackle and Varsity football players not participating in the tournament will be Tuesday, November 1st and Friday, November 4th both 6-8pm at the Liverpool Community Center (6801 School St, Valley City, 44280). Players need not be present. Items required to return: helmet, shoulder pads, game pants, practice pants, knee pads, practice jersey and belt. Keep your jerseys!
Return date for Varsity following the tournament will be* Tuesday, November 15th 6-8pm*.
There is no equipment return for grades K-2 flag football.
All Cheer teams will return uniforms on Saturday, November 5th 10am-12pm.
End of year Banquets:
BYFA will once again hold pot luck banquets at the Buckeye Elementary School cafeteria for all of our families to celebrate the season together. There will be 2 banquet dates splitting our large group up by grades. Please see the below details including food requests per team family. Dishes do not have to be extra large! BYFA will provide water and pizza. Families feel free to bring your other drinks.
Grades K, 1st and 2nd flag football and Cheer will be on Thursday, November 10th from 6-8pm.
1st/2nd flag teams please bring a main dish per family to share, K/1 flag teams please bring a side dish, Cheer teams a dessert.
All Padded Flag, Rookie Tackle and Varsity teams along with JV and Varsity Cheer will be on Thursday, November 17th from 6-8pm.
Varsity Football and Varsity Cheer please bring a main dish per family to share, Rookie Tackle and JV Cheer teams a side dish and Padded flag a dessert.
