OPENING DAY - EXCELLENT START TO SEASON!

Posted by Cris Bera at Mar 28, 2014 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

What a fantastic Opening Day we had with almost 150 players and their parents, relatives and friends all attending the ceremonies at Hilton Field.

We had several VIPs come out for the festivities, including Councilman David Robinson, who threw out the First Pitch of the Season!

If you made it out for the parade and ceremonies, thanks for coming, and if you missed it, we hope to see you next time!

Here are a few key dates to put on your calendar:

Late February - Practices will begin (be on the lookout for an email or call from your Coach)

March 29th - Opening Day at Weber Field in Ervan Chew Park

When you sign up, you will see that there are plenty of ways to get involved with the League, but if you have an interest in either of the following, please send an email with your contact information:

Challenger Division - Little League International is a committed supporter of kids of all abilities who would like to play ball, even if they have physical or mental challenges (read more here - www.littleleague.org/learn/about/divisions/challenger).  Neartown Little League is ready to support Challenger teams, but we need volunteer Organizers and Coaches to make that happen.  If this is of interest to you please contact us by email at Challenger@neartownll.org.

Softball Division - Little League International also has an extensive softball network to support girls ages 5-18 years old (read more here - www.littleleague.org/learn/about/divisions/softball-girls).
