It has been a great summer season and with school just around the corner there is a break in activity to get settled into the new school year.

We will be back on the water September 9th preparing for competition near the end of September (details TBA) and Oklahoma City in early October.

We are looking forward to a great Autumn paddling season !!


Sweeping the results in Winnipeg, Wascana’s Kayak Men qualify all their events for the Canadian Championships in Welland, Ontario later this month.

Next up, the Women join the squad to represent Saskatchewan in week two of competition at the 2017 Canada Summer Games.

Wednesday August 2nd (10:30-2:30)

A fun day of Paddle Madness with games, relays and races for WRCC. Local teams have been invited to join. We welcome any of the paddlers who have taken part in previous 2017 Camps to come back and join in the fun.

Event Fee: $10 to covers the cost of your ‘Paddle Madness’ – Shirt and BBQ Lunch.
(For Paddlers under 15)


Follow WRCC’s Colin Rieger as he competes in Romania at the Junior World Championships. Colin will represent Canada as part of the Canadian Jr. K4.

Willow Island Camp Out

The Annual WRCC Camp out is a Fun tradition for paddlers under 15.

On the 27th paddlers will attend a half day starting at 12:30 pm. Padlers should arrive at the club with all of their things for the sleepover and practice will run until 4:00 pm as usual.

From there we will begin the pack up our belongings in the canoes that will be taken to Willow Island. We will be on the island from 6.00 pm to 8.00am the following morning. After the sleepover, once again we will be having a half day for the athletes so they will be done at 12.00 pm for the day.

Please RSVP by Tuesday night so we may buy groceries based on the numbers attending. Please send $10 with your athletes to cover the cost of food (supper, breakfast and snacks) by Wednesday.
