McDowell Sends 4 to PIHL All Star Game
The McDowell Hockey Club is proud to announce that 4 Varsity players were chosen to represent the team at this years PIHL All-Star game in Belle Vernon PA. This years line up included Seniors Tyler Sutula, Alex Margraf, Ryan Guzek and Dan Muccio. In an entertaining twist, Tyler and Alex were placed on the Southwest team and Ryan and Dan were placed on the Northeast team allowing the boys to compete against each other. The Soutwest team prevailed in overtime, led by Alex Margraf’s two goals. Congratulations men!

Recent Event in Civic Center Parking Lot
The Hockey Comittiee asked me to pass along an informational reminder to the membership regarding an incident that occurred last week to one of the Freshman Moms in the civic center parking lot. As this mom was heading to her car in the far north end of the back lot, she noticed a person on a skateboard heading directly toward her. This person continued directly at her and followed the mom all the way back to the doors of the civic center. Nothing more came of it, but a good scare none the less. This message is just serve as a reminder that, especially this time of year when it gets dark so early, we all need to consider the environment as we come and go from practices and games. Always use your best judgement and travel in pairs or feel free to ask one of the Dads or Coaches to walk out with you.
The next meeting of the general membership of the McDowell Hockey club will be held on November 22nd, 8:00pm at the West Ridge
Fire Hall.
An important note from the club Registrar:
USA Hockey registration reminder!Another season of McDowell Hockey has begun and on-ice practices began last night. All players should be registered with USA Hockey prior to participating in on-ice activities. It is imperative that this registration be completed and turned into the registrar ASAP. Any player that has not turned in the USAH registration, Code of Conduct and Consent to treat forms by the start of practice on August 24, 2011(note: this date has been pulled in since the last communication at Chas’ request to give him the time needed to prepare the paperwork for PIHL inspection) will not be permitted to take the ice. Please e-mail me if unsure as to whether your player is registered for this year’s play and I will advise if the registration was received. In the documents section of the TeamPages website are the directions to perform the on-line registration. Note: the cost will be $35 ($30 USA Hockey; $5 MidAm Hockey). If you have any questions about registration, please let me know. I have also added two additional forms to the document section of the website, “Consent to treat” and “Participant code of conduct” and to this e-mail that also must to be filled out and returned to me.Following the completion of the registration process, a copy of the confirmation (this is an email sent to you by USA Hockey once the registration is completed) must be e-mailed to me for development of the team rosters. The consent to treat and participant code of conduct forms can be brought to the ice on Wednesday and given to the coaching staff present or myself.Have a great day!Chas Auenchasmann@verizon.net
