I uploaded a few pics from the womens first game vs the Irish.
Will try and get pics from every game from this point on.
There is a lot of rugby for the Scottish this weekend as the Women’s and Minor programs get under way and the Men’s season continues into the second week.
Saturday is a full rugby day at South Nepean Park with the Minor program having their first session starting at 10am.
Both Womens teams kick off their 2010 season with the Scottish Is playing the Irish at 11:30am followed by the IIs facing UOV at 1:30pm.
The Mens IIs will be playing the Ottawa Irish at 3:00pm. The First team game has been postponed to a date TBD. In lieu of facing the Irish Is on Saturday, both the Scottish and the Irish will play a Welsh touring side (Abercynon) on Sunday at Twin Elm. The Irish will play at 1:00pm and the Scottish will play at 2:30pm.
Despite the bitter cold and rainy weather, the Scottish First XV have had a strong start to the 2010 season with a 29-0 win over Bytown. While the first half provided entertaining try scoring and offensive displays, it was the defense and unwillingness to break under the Blues second half pressure that was most impressive.
Tries: J. Lee (2), Oousterhausen, Radmore and Knight
Converts: Keenan (2)
The Second XV faced a tough challenge in the Blues II who took advantage of a bit of inexperience and rusty play in the first half to build a solid lead. The second half saw a tighter competition as the Scottish IIs pressed hard to gain territory and eventually earned a well-deserved, consolation try.
Training continues this week on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 however please note we are moving to the main rugby pitch at SNP.
The Scottish Senior Men have started the 2010 season on a positive note with a Cup win at the 2010 Lanark Sevens tournament.
